In 2016

Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited was been awarded the Green Industry Level 5 'Green Network' by the Ministry of Industry. The company is considered the first commodity manufacturer to receive Level 5 which is the highest level of the Green Industry award. The award reflects the company's effort in building a sustainable green network for the entire supply chain by supporting suppliers and business partners to apply for the Green Industry certification.

Additionally, our products were awarded the Eco–Products International Fair 2016 Award (EPIF AWARDS). The award supports the development of products and services that are environmentally friendly, and which will lead to sustainable consumption in accordance with the green economy plan.

Water Management

Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited was committed to fully adopting the Zero Effluent System in the manufacturing process in 2019. The technology manages the water system efficiently and therefore the waste water treatment system is no longer needed.

Zero Effluent system - Improving manufacturing processes to reduce wastewater
Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited has been improving the manufacturing process from 2003 until 2012 by installing new machinery as well as introducing the Zero Effluent system. Today, we have managed to reduce wastewater from 350 m3/day to 120 m3/day. The company is aware of the water shortage. We have been reusing treated wastewater in the Steam Boiler Wet Scrubber system as well as reserving the water for use in case of fire.
Treated Wastewater Quality Inspection
The company uses the Activated Sludge waste water treatment system. Inspection shows that all test factors in the treated waste water are within the control limits. We also have Sludge treatment to manage and dispose of sludge. The inspection reports are regularly sent to the responsible government offices which include:

Waste Management

The company’s mission was to manage resources used in the production process to the maximum, in order to reduce waste from the manufacturing process by 20% by 2019. The company also aims to improve the waste disposal system by categorizing and managing the waste efficiently.

Efficient use of resources to reduce waste
Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited emphasizes managing resources to the maximum, including the reduction of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) in the bottle manufacturing process by decreasing PET 1 liter weight from 35 grams to 27 grams while retaining the durability. This process can reduce the usage of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) by approximately 23%. The company has also launched the "Paperless Project", a campaign to change the working style from paper to a computerized system which will help reduce office waste.
The Company’s Waste Management
Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited realizes the importance of managing the waste resulting from our manufacturing processes. We categorize the waste in order to reuse and recycle the waste efficiently. The company is determined to replace Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) used in manufacturing oil bottles with Bio-Plastic. This will help reduce problems from the degradation of plastic bottle waste.

The company is committed to using energy efficiently with environmentally friendly concern by replacing fossil fuel with Biomass in the production of steam which will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. The company also has an efficient disposal system for ash from combustion of biomass by recycling it into fertilizer, mixed with soil to improve the soil quality and used to make super block.
